The most beautiful beaches in Cornwall

Cornwall is one of the most popular holiday destinations, even among the British. One reason for this is the fantastic beaches:
Children play on the beach, surfers ride the waves and couples stay until the evening to watch the sunset in the dunes. Here are some of my favourites:
Fistral Beach
One of the most famous beaches for surfers is Fistral Beach. It offers a wide sandy beach and good catering where you can have an excellent lunch. There is a supervised area at the left end for beginner surfers. Those surfers who already have a few years of experience under their belt can also venture into the area further to the right.
!!! Still, it's not my favourite. The beach is right next to the larger town of Newquay and is surrounded by mostly multi-storey blocks of flats.

Watergate Bay
One of my favourite beaches - also for surfing: Watergate Bay is a little hidden between the steep cliffs. The bay opens out towards the water. It is a spacious beach in the middle of nature.
There are also cafés and restaurants here to enjoy a little refreshment on warm days. Surfboards can be hired directly on the beach for a small fee. The waves generally break very evenly and if you catch the right conditions, there are smaller waves further in and larger waves further out. So it's also ideal for professional surfers.

Holywell Bay
One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to! The two rocks in the water and the eternal view of the sea are almost healing. As a special feature, there are very beautiful sand dunes where you can have a picnic in the evening and watch the sunset. It's such a beautiful atmosphere. Pure nature!
There is also a surf school there. However, if you are a beginner surfer, you should make sure that the beach is supervised when you go into the water.

Porthminster Beach
Porthminster Beach is located right on the edge of St Ives. There are no high waves here. Children can play safely in the water or build castles in the fine sand. The water is clear and the colours brilliant. On nice days, the beach is well frequented. The Porthminster Beach Cafe is located directly on the beach and offers excellent food. There is a snack bar opposite - also with a very nice atmosphere. A very nice beach, as you would expect in Greece, with access to the town.

Perran Sands Beach
A little further north of Perranporth and Perranporth Beach is Perran Sands Beach. A spacious beach with great natural surroundings, sand dunes in places and - in the right weather conditions - waves that will make any surfer's heart beat faster. The only downside is that it is not easy to reach. There is a caravan resort above the cliffs, but you can register as a guest and walk down the steps to the beach. If you come on foot from Perranporth, you have to be aware of the tides and accept a longer walk along the beach. But it's worth it!
